Skyline

As a tiny fragment of light bounces off a building, endless shadows appear and glisten. Fascinated by the structures standing above her, for AW18 Laura Theiss constructed a skyline of sleek and sophisticated silhouettes.

By taking an architectural approach to design, Theiss has created luxe, timeless pieces. Noticing the jagged lines made by windows, the knitwear designer translated this into the collection, keeping her signature style of reinventing traditional patterns and making them ooze modernity.

The minimalistic approach to design allows the elaborate detailing throughout the collection to shine. The delicateness of crocheting is defined through appliqué dresses producing unique pieces. Pleated dresses contrast against the intricacy giving a relaxed vibe.

Continuously pushing boundaries, Theiss mixes fine cashmere and woollen yarns with lurex giving her pieces a futuristic touch. Midi-length hems, manipulated sleeves and oversized ruffles are introduced giving a new exaggerated form. Dark muted colours flow throughout the collection as flashes of turquoise, pink and green get bolder.

The empowering pieces captures the spirit of woman today and is a reminder that they are stronger than ever.
